Hi everyone,

This whole posting to a forum thing is rather new for me so please forgive me if I don't get it right.

Glad I found this site! I've been looking for some help/support but haven't done very well. This looks like a great site, it'll take me a while to find my way around and hopefully find some answers and maybe I can even help someone else. I got banded 6-12-06. I was 400 lbs and in a really bad place.

I got down to 314 lbs in about 5 months. Unfortunately, I haven't been doing very well and now I'm back up to 360 lbs. That's why I'm here, I'm looking for some help. Sorry, I guess this probably isn't the right place to go into my story (I think I hear the violins tuning up.) I'll browse a while to see where might be more appropriate to post. If you can steer me somewhere I'd appreciate it. Anyway it's nice to be here among the banded and I hope to meet some of you real soon.

Hello. When did you have your last fill? You may just need a fill to get back on track. I just got banded this August and have had two fills and already need another one. There is tons of support and suggestions here.

Hi guy!

Welcome!

When was your last fill?

The answer to the problem could be as simple as you losing the residual fat-pad underneath the band, which makes the band looser, which allows you to eat more food.

Thanks for your replies. I just got a fill on Friday October 12.

I just posted a fuller description of my story and problems on the Lap-Band Complications forum.

Hi blueguy!

Welcome to LBT. You will love it here. The support and advice is wonderful. Sometimes only a person who has a band can understand the good and the bad. I hope to be seeing a lot of you on the board in the future.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
