I am looking for a sleeve sister or a friend to chat with and go through this process with. I am 33 and live in Charlotte. I am 7 months in to my 12 month weightloss program. I expect to have surgery some time between Feb and March. I am working my program with Dr. Melkonian. I currently Work out several times a week and I am sticking to a 1200 Cal diet. You can do it just focus on the end result getting there is the hardest thing but you can 100% do this. I'm in UK so can't help on the exercise front but an now a week out of surgery and have lost 2stone so far. Just keep pushing yourself and remember the end result is worth it.

Thank you so much! IT has been such a long journey for me so far. I'm excited that I am just over 1/2 through until my surgery date.

How are you doing ?

Hi! Thanks for checking on me! I'm doing good and not so good. All of my paper work is being submitted to the ins to see if out will be approved early. I will hopefully find out on the coming weeks. I lost am additional 4lbs.
The not so good is my ain't who is like a mother to me is in the hospital she is having her leg amputated. She is obese and suffers from diabetes. Her kidney abbr liver have shut down and trying to stabilize her. I am an emotional eater soit gas been super hard not to deal into old habits. I have myself one day to lay in bed eat ice cream and junk food and cry now today I'm back at the gym.
How about you, How are you?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
