Kaja, I took your suggestion and put a little bit of parmasan on my broth tonight. It did help! I can't wait to go to the nutritionist tomorrow so I can eat something. I ate a noodle tonight out of the dinner I made for my family and I felt so awful for sneaking it. Oh, well. I've been so hungry. The clear fluids for 2 weeks has been really tough.

Gosh! We must be on the same wave length because I only have a couple hours left until full liquids. I just had some Tomato juice spiced up like a Bloody Mary... ummm first couple sips felt like I swallowed lava. lol I think the sip might have been to big but that's what I get for not just waiting. My surgery is tomorrow and I have all kinds of mixed feelings. I know I have to stay positive and I will get healthy. Anyone experiencing being very sluggish after the surgery?

I wouldn't say that I was sluggish. I was definitely tired and needed rest. The best day I was awake and aware and wanting Tom move around. Day three I was doing minor exercises with 5lb weights. Everyone is different . If you feel tired. sleep. Don't be nervous. After you will thank yourself

Rosana,

OMG!!! Good luck tomorrow! I wasn't sluggish, but I was tired. I still haven't started a regular exercise plan, but I am keeping active. I have four kids so driving to sports, grocery shopping, laundry, and other regular chores are enough for me right now. When I over-do it I know. Then I have to sit for a while. Just listen to your body, and don't forget this is a major surgery so you need time to heal. Please keep in touch and let us know how you're doing!

Tammy

I love that there are people posting here, and it makes me feel better to have someone to talk to. We're all going through this together, and I know we're all different and we won't have the exact same reactions to the surgery...but it helps me to have someone to talk to :)

So, just to update our little group, I had my nutritionist appt. today, and I can eat food! Right now it's soft food, but each week I can add something new...like fish and then chicken, etc. She was very impressed that I've lost 27lbs in 2 weeks! I'm excited about it too. Great motivation to keep going strong!!!

I am 3 days post op and I keep having these gas bubbles. Not sure why. I really am not hungry just very thirsty. It seems that I am not able to quench it.

Rosanna, those gas bubbles get better. I drink all day long...starts out with little sips, but I can drink more at a time now. Take it slow and give yourself time. I'm so glad you posted and you're doing well!

My surgery was scheduled today!!! August 29th! All they said was no alcohol or aspirin two weeks before. I have not been dieting but now that I have a date I eating about 1400-1500 calories a day so I can lose a little before the surgery. I've only counted calories for 2 days and I'm starving. Not emotional, boredom or out-of-habit hungry BUT Real body hunger that's distracting and annoying! For those who have had the surgery, are you a lot less hungry?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
