I had my surgery yesterday, and am back at home today. Question for those of you have already had an RNY... in your experience how long did the abdominal pain last?

I had surgery the 12th and still have some achiness. It's sore but not pain med worthy.

I had my RNY 9/11 and I still have lots of pain. I have been lucky with liquids because I have been able to drink them down pretty easily. I get tired very easily but today I went out for 2 outings and I'm tired but happy.

I had my rny 9/11 but also a myotomy and hernia repair. All laparoscopic. I do still take pain meds at night to sleep better. I have a lot of soreness in my left side where the biggest incision was made. It hurts to bend, and reach for stuff. I can get around ok tho, walking for a long while wears me out. Pain is tolerable during the day, but it’s hard to get good sleep without some meds.

Went to my pre op nutritional class today! I assumed my program has the two week liquid diet. Totally doesn't. I almost crapped myself when she said I just had to do it the day before. However, just with my medical background I will be doing some variation of the liver shrinking diets despite them telling me I don't have to. I don't wanna bleed out or get a knick! That wouldn't be fun. On top of that, due to me thinking that I had to do the 2 week pre op liquid diet....I already had my food funerals. Might as well get in the right head space since I thought thats what I had to do anyway.
Oh also, since its official that my date IS set - we went and booked the hotel! Its getting SO close and SO real! Holy moly! The nerves are starting to hit me! Thanks for listening to me ramble! lol.

I had the shoulder pain as well. My aunt who is a nurse and also a sleeper told me it's the vega nerve that gets irritated and does go away. About 2 days after she told me that my pain was gone. I was about 5 weeks out. Heading into my 7th week now. How are you checking out?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
