Eating more at night

Recommended Posts

Thanks, i'll definately try that! WASaBubbleButt, how do you cook the veggies and do you season them?

Isabella - is your age right??? you are only 16 and were able to get banded??? I gotta say you are a beatiful girl at 170 !!!

I put my veggie in a pot add Water to cover and boil - I cook my veggies to death cuz that's the way i have always liked them - drain and spray with i can't beleive it's not butter spray - salt & pepper.

I don't feel that my band changes during the day or night as i can eat whenever - but I am a night time eater too - I know that you have heard this before - but you really shouldn't go all day with out eating...

Good luck baby girl..

I'm not that great at cooking, so please tell me, what veggies do you boil and for how long? :P and does this satisfy you/your hungar?

Hey, you look great. I am always eating what I feel like is a pig at night too! I am way too tight in the am. alway pb'ing in the am. Just get your Protein in by using shakes during the day but be careful for too many liquid calories.

I cook them by going to Panda Express and ordering a side of Mixed Veggies. 80 calories and they are great.

I am a really horrible cook. :P

I love yellow crooked neck squash - zuchinnee (sp) - I mix these 2 togerther - I am not a cook who really times or measure (grew up cooking and loving food = hence why i am fat) but i would say for 15 -20 minutes. I also love brussel sprouts - spinach - carrots - califlower

I just cook until done (soft) drain and spray and yes they help with night hunger - and they way i look at it you are getting alot fewer calories eating vegges than you doing eating mash potatoes -

I think that most of the time that we do not accept that we are full we just want to continue to eat cuz it taste good - it's that way for me - I have to really stop myself alot as my tummy is truely full but i want to keep eating... it's hard to distingush between the two sometime...

Do you live on your own?? Is that your baby?? - I was a young mom too that's why i ask...

...on occasion when I've really felt like pigging out on something that happens to be in the house, I've eaten an apple....

That's my newest trick--I slice a tart apple (Granny Smith or Macintosh) paper-thin, then salt the heck out of it. A healthy alternative to potato chips.:hungry:

Yes I know how independent you 16 yrs olds are :)- I was there once myself - infact i had my own place and have been on my own since I was 16 . I have a grandson who lives with me and he's 16 too - He thinks he's grown half the time... I can't beleive I am doing this a 2nd time... :P

I thnk it's great that you are independent - you will make a fine young lady who will be strong and knows what she wants...

Good luck to you on your journey to become healthly.... cuz you are beautiful as you were...

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
