HI all. I had my sleeve surgery on 30 March 2017 at Gisborne Hospital in New Zealand. I was 178.6 (393.7 Pounds) at my heaviest in November 2016. Weighed 156.4 (344.8 pounds)on the day of my surgery and now weigh 117.5 kg (259 pounds). It has not been easy at times but I am now walking between 75 kilometres (46 miles) and 100 kilometres (62 miles) a week with my dog (who has also lost 2.5 kgs!). I am going all the way and will never go back. I know that I will have hard times ahead but have really mind shifted the way I look at food. Smart Protein is everything at the moment for all meals. I admire each and everyone of you who have had or are considering this journey - Kia Kaha! This is a Maori phrase from New Zealand meaning "be strong". Let us try our very best and not be too hard on ourselves.FB_IMG_1501046849665.thumb.jpg.3c30f07159bb85f58b1ea6d6e0b6ba34.jpgFB_IMG_1501046849665.thumb.jpg.3c30f07159bb85f58b1ea6d6e0b6ba34.jpg

Fantastic. Well done. I'm being sleeved on September 5th in Kuala Lumpur...the most convenient location to my home in Indonesia. I'm starting from a similar point as you. This IS going to work. Made my 3rd visit to your wonderful country in January. South Island. Love it.

Awesome Vaughn. There is nothing to fear. This will go well for you. Take advantage of any psychological support and really work hard on your preoperative diet. The more you lose and the harder you work before makes it so much easier for your surgeon and also a much happier recovery. Good luck and good wishes. Cheers Ritchie

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
