New to this process

Recommended Posts

Hello all, Long time reader. My story....I decided to get wls in the beginning of 2017. I've thought about it before but never looked into it. Just like alot of people have heard the bad things of wls, I heard the same. I decided on the sleeve in Feb because from what I learned it's a more gradual weight loss process. I'm ready for the lifestyle change. I chose to do the multi supervision process for 3 months with my pcp and dietitian. I started my process this month July so two more months to go. I've learned alot from reading the posts on this site along with watching a bunch of YouTube videos. My bmi is over 50 and I have type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. My surgeon stated that after the surgery I could still be on my medication. I'm positive that might change as long as I stick to plan. I've learned so much in this journey and I know there is still a long road ahead but I'm up for it. Even on my bad days I try to stay positive. Not only am I on this journey to better myself but my family is too. I have a great support in my kids and their dad. I've only told a few people at work and my mom and sister. They all support me and are rooting for me. They understand why I need this life changing tool. I'm ready to be even more active than I already am. One thing learned since I started this process is that I have to stop being afraid to sweat. I'm finding out that I do like working out just about everyday even if only for 20 mins. Building up that sweat and seeing progress makes me smile. Thanks for all who took the time to read my story.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
