Side affects???

Recommended Posts

Does anyone suffer from a runny noise. When i eat after a few bites my nose starts to get runny. I was sleeved in September of 2013, so after i started eating solid foods is when it started. Usually it would just happen when I eat . Now it happens all the time. I have to literally carry around tissue with me every where. Does anyone else experience this? If you have any other side effects feel free to share those as well. Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I think you should visit a chiropractor. Chiropractors don't always just pop necks anymore. Find one that has a nice selection of supplements/vitamins and the like in their practice, since those are the types that tend to think holistically.

Your physician can look in your nose to see if it looks like allergies. Otherwise, you can try taking something like Claritin to see if allergies are playing a role.

I'd be interested in what your PC says. My husband's nose runs when he eats, a recent addition. He's not bariatric patient, nor an allergy sufferer. Though I am curious

One of my good friends who had bypass surgery, when she would over eat her noise would run and that when she knew she over ate. She never went into details why nor how.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
