Are you getting enough nutrition? liquids?

Second thing to check is Iron and B12 and the rest of your values.

If you are worried I would check with your surgeon.

Hard breathing? Do you mean you're worked up, so are "panting" from emotion, or you are finding it difficult to breathe? If you are having trouble breathing, please go to an emergency room right away.

If you don't think it's an emergency:

Try consuming something that has some carbohydrate in it. You might be having a low blood sugar problem. What kind of carbohydrates can you tolerate? I normally recommend juice, but we don't want you to dump. Milk might work, applesauce, etc.... then follow it up with a Protein food.

Give your surgeon or doctor a call today to see if they can see you. You might be short on some nutrients, or it could be coming from a physical problem (if you don't have a pain or fever, it's probably NOT a problem with the surgery).

Many people have crazy mood swings post op, but I think this probably has a physical cause.

It might be related to low blood sugar, especially since you drank some orange juice and it stopped.

If you had diabetes prior to surgery and were taking prescription medicine prior to surgery, it may be time to scale back the use of this medicine. It might be signs of a condition called reactive hypoglycemia. Here are a couple links.

I had the same issue. My doc told me to drink full-sugar Gatorade (I got the Whole Foods brand because I don't do artificial stuff) and some salty broth. It worked! I felt SO much better almost instantly. But please ask your doc first, I wouldn't want to mess you up if you can't handle sugar Water right now. Sounds very similar to my issue though.

Ok, so now you know you are prone to blood sugar problems, and what it feels like when yours gets too low. Make sure to keep "emergency" juice on hand (individually packaged singles are great since they can just stay in your cabinet or fridge until you need them). Try to eat more often through the day to help keep things stable. And always follow your juice with a Protein based meal so you don't develop the reactive hypoglycemia. Your doctor will want to know you are having this issue, and can help you know what else you should be doing (changing meds, start testing blood sugar, etc.).

Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
