You must stay on them. My doctors office gave me the blues. I called back and forth from the surgeons office to my doctors office at least twice a week until it was finally done.

The waiting game is the worst. I had all my tests done before my first appointment on December 17th, 2016. It took two months before they finally got to my file, but once they submitted for approval, I got the acceptance in five hours. I think initially it's a slow haul, but soon it will fly by. Good luck!

I think that it was a two week turn around from the time that my doctors office submitted the paperwork until I heard back. The only hiccup during this time was that I was asked to submit records from a sleep study that they misplaced.

It's so nice to read about other people that are in the same boat that I'm in! The wait is just torture. I finished my 6 month supervised diet on July 6th. The surgeon's office took until July 12th to submit my paperwork to insurance. And at this point I am still waiting to hear back from insurance. I have called a couple of times and have been told that it is in review with the nurse case manager. Hoping I hear something soon! I have Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and have been told that they have up to 15 business days, but I'm hoping it doesn't take that long. Praying that I hear something tomorrow so that I don't have to go the whole weekend without knowing again.

I have been waiting for my approval as well. My paperwork was sent over on the 13th, last week. I am going nuts waiting, and the weekend is hard but somehow my brain just switched to the conclusion I wouldn't hear from them all weekend. I have been a complete scatter brain.. I haven't been this nervous in my life!! Anyone have any advice to make it less suspenseful?

SmileyGal12, I will take that advice too! I find myself checking my phone every 15 minutes at work to see if I missed a call. I almost feel stalker-ish LOL. It definitely is the most nervous I have been about anything in awhile. Good luck to you! I hope you hear something soon.

I also look at my phone constantly like a crazy person. I am afraid I will get denied somehow? I have done every single thing on my criteria needed fir my insurance, but in the back of my mind I have that bad feeling.

Approved! I just called my insurance and they said I was approved. I'm so excited! They said they mailed a letter to my doctor. So, now I just have to wait for the doctor :)

The waiting game will kill you. My doctors office and myself called my insurance for a week and a half finally I got approved. I have tricare and they said usually it only take three or less days to approve. Im guessing they got tired of fighting and approved it. Im going in August 16!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
