Members Total Reputation

Sorry if this question is already answered/explained somewhere, but I couldn't find it. What does the Members Total Reputation number mean under your user name?

Reputation is based upon status updates. These are your updates that people reply to or like. Idk what the number means exactly but I know that the more you post status updates, the higher the number gets.

The total reputation number is the amount of 'likes' you received on all the content you have contributed to the site. For example, I just 'liked' your question, now your total reputation is a '4' instead of a '3'.
