June 27th sleever...nervous!

Recommended Posts

Day 4 post op....very busy day today. My gas pain is minimal, I think it's due to lots of walking around. Even in my house, I walk in circles. I'm tired after a trip out and about and when I come in I sleep for 2 hours. I'm consuming a fair amount of liquid, typically 2 to 4 oz every hour to hour and a half. I'm monitoring my urine color because I'm scared of dehydration. Today a 4oz Jello takes 30 to 40 minutes...I still feel that "i over ate feeling" but it goes away once I start moving around. My surgery was Tuesday and today is Saturday, I'm down 10lbs already.

I am 12 days post op. Here is my Fluid intake, from what i can recall:

Post op day 0, 1, & 2: was very sick while in hospital, only IV fluids.

Day 2-3: only able to take small sips, they let me go home on day 3 once I was able to keep down 300ml. Attempted sips of Protein.

Day 4: intake improved. Watching clock, making sure to sip every 10-15min. Tolerating fluid and protein well.

Day 5 -7: intake significantly improved, by day 7 able to get down two 11oz Protein Shakes a day AND 1.5 liters fluid.

It is now day 12 and I have a pretty good routine. I'm able to drink over 2 liters of fluid a day from my bottle plus able to have 1-2 cups of broth during the day, plus able to drink 3-4 protein a day.

Still on clear liquid diet.
Taking approx 72 mg protein/day
Total liquid intake, well over the recommended 64oz. Can probably drink about 4 oz of broth over a 10-15 min period. Down 20 lbs!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
