  1. Thanks for your input Russ. I have heard of that book. The video and other resources I found online for WLS pts use the guidelines in Powell’s book but modify it for us. So instead of, for example, 2 cups of non starchy veggies and 1 cup of complex carb on high carb days I have seen some convert it 2 oz veggies and 1 oz carb for WLS (this with the 3 oz protein to equal 6 oz volume per meal, 5 times a day). Maybe I should reach out to my Nut, who I haven’t met with in some time and run this by her.
  2. Ha! I need to get better at poor choices. That should read *food choices and meal prep!
  3. Russ D- I am one year postop. That sounds crazy to say. I can’t believe it has been a year! I need to get back on a better regime of poor choices and prep. KCgirl- Cycling sounds very doable and allows for something to look forward to! As I said I found a YouTube video of a sleeve pt who carb cycles. It was very helpful but I still am left scratching my head a bit.
  4. Hi! I am interested in success stories and strategies with carb cycling. I found a helpful YouTube video but I still have questions. On high carb days, how many carbs? I have read 2-2-5 g per lb of body weight but that seems like so much! Low carb days- how many carbs? I wish there was a plan I could follow for WLS pts, until I get the hang of it. Thanks!!
