My problem is gas pains, not feeling hungry and not get full signals. I'm frustrated because I don't want to over or under eat but really not wanting to eat at all due to gas pains! Anyone else still having gas pains? I have been up and moving since 4 hours post op. By Wednesday night I had walked 12 laps around nurses station. I stayed 2 days and I'm still walking at home. But can't get rid of the gas!

I don't know if my pain is gas or what. It feels like my stomach twist and turns. I do burp alot and pass gas occasionly. I think I pushed the fluids too much yesterday. I too can't tell yet if it's hunger or not. I think I will sip on Water today and see if there is a difference.

Honestly, I think the gas is the worst part. The good news is, it does get better. A LOT better. I'm 3 weeks post-op today and the gas is still there, but not painful and not as bad/frequent. I can take hefty sips of Water and ate nearly a full cup of greek yogurt last night with no discomfort. It seems like it takes forever for you to adjust to new foods but trust me, it happens and you keep moving forward.

For the gas, try chewable Gas-X. It gave me a lot of relief.

I'm June 21st too! I had a terrible postop course. I pretty much vomited every hour for more than 36 hours. But I'm home now, settling in just fine. I think I'm getting the flow of it- Protein, fluids, walking. I'm beyond excited to put in the work, and reap the reward. Good luck to you all [emoji5]

I have started to experience fatigue, extreme moodiness and walking makes me breathless. I can only walk outdoors late in the evening due to 100 plus temperatures in Texas. Anyone else have mood issues?

Oh I am moody too! I am disgusted at everyone who can eat in the house! Even the poor doggy. Lol

Not having mood issues yet. I start full liquids tomorrow. With being on Clear Liquids only, I'm surprised I'm not fatigued.

100 degrees . . . Yuck. We've had a heat wave here and it's been running around 105.

It's interesting to see the different preop and postop requirements and plans. My surgeons group only does a low carb, basically healthy preop "diet" for 2 weeks preop. Practicing getting in fluids, sipping, focusing on Protein and small portions. Postop plan is-

2 weeks of clears (which I see many doing 2 weeks preop) along with Protein Shakes, 60-80mg/day.

Then 2 weeks of puréed and full liquids.

Then 2 weeks of soft.

Then, I'm not sure.

My pre-op diet was 10 days was mainly the shakes, 3-4 a day with a maximum of 4 cups of veggies (non-starchy) and unlimited clear liquids. Day before surgery was clear liquids only.

Post op - 8 weeks

Days 1-6 clear liquids only

Days 6-19 full liquids with Protein Shakes

Days 20 - 33 pureed with 2 Protein shakes as Snacks per day

Days 34 - 56 soft foods

Day 57 and on regular food avoiding red meat, Pasta and rice.

I've seen a lot of diets with people starting soft foods on day 20 so I am not sure but I'm sticking pretty close to my Doctor's orders. My calorie intake is roughly 600 per day and 68 gms protein. Very little sugar (maybe 6 grams) and lower carb.

My post op is first week clear liquids and Protein Drinks, second week full liquids. Third week soft foods (no pureed stage), on soft foods for 4 weeks) then regular foods after that except for breads and starches, which start another 2 weeks after the regular foods. It's amazing how different each plan is.

My surgery was 6/7/17.

I'm getting my fluids in. Getting all my Proteins in is sometimes interesting but otherwise it's going ok. I've lost about 48 lbs (38 since surgery). From a size 22 to a 14/16

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
