I'm considering flying with my 9 yo (we travel often) 2 weeks after VGS. Thoughts? Pros & Cons?

Thank you in advance

People travel 2 -3 days after surgery, so the flight isn't an issue, I'm 11 /12 weeks post op, I wouldn't have felt like a holiday at 2 weeks .... I felt okay, but I wanted to sleep a lot. I had highs and lows until 7 weeks of extreme fatigue, but Its all good now. I feel "normal" now. I'm not a person to take naps and definitely very private, but I found myself taking cat naps in my car In front of store parking lots (embarrassing , but I couldn't stay awake). Everyone's different though!

Im down 44 pounds in 11 weeks and I'm 9 pounds from my original goal of 170lbs, but I think I'll aim for 160 now. I'm 5'10". Started at 223lbs now 179lbs.

I flew from Dallas to San Francisco 2 weeks after surgery and was fine. I drank a Protein Shake before I went through security and then bought a bottle of Water before I boarded the plan.

Just get up a few times and walk the aisle.

I had no problems what's so ever and for the first time in a long time I didn't need an extender #howbowdah :)

At 2 weeks out you'll be fine :)
I had 2 flights 2 days out of surgery. I was extremely nauseated and a little bit out of it due to pain meds so my boyfriend wheeled me around the airports in a wheelchair. However, I easily would've been able to get through the flights and multiple airports at 1 week out.

If you've got long flights, what you may choose to do is bring little high Protein packs of Soup mix and ask your flight attendants for hot/warm Water if you feel like you need to consume something!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
