Problems Getting Into Plastic Surgeons Office

Recommended Posts

So...I'm 7 months post surgery and 84lbs down. I still have another 66lbs to go to my personal goal weight. I have lots of loose skin, but my biggest issues at this point are with my breasts. They are flat and hanging. They are irritated by perspiration and despite trying my darndest to keep them clean and dry, they are becoming a real problem.

I will need a lot of plastic surgery at some point, but right now, I just need to take care of this problem with a lift and implants. Plastic surgeons are refusing to even give me a consultation because I am not weight stable for a year. I am so aggravated. Any thoughts? Will I have to seriously deal with this for over a year?

I totally get that they would not want to do a panniculectomy, Tummy Tuck, thigh lift, or brachioplasty right now. That would be a mistake, as I still have plenty to lose.

Any thoughts, words of encouragement?

Wait.

My boobs totally changed/improved over the last few months.

Waiting can suck, but the longer I am under 200 the better my body is getting.

Boobs are the last thing you want to get done when your weight isn't stable.

If you lose 10 or 20 pounds you are going to ruin your new boobs.

Yeah I know it sucks. When I was just over 1/2 to goal, my body was the worst. The closer I get to goal the better it gets. Your fat and body readjusts and changes.

My boobs are just empty wind socks, lol & surgery not an option.

I've found some great bras that shape, separate and are comfortable.

These are my favorites:

Thanks, I have great bras, but the problem is on the outer side where my skin gathers and "crepes". I run, so perspiration gathers there and creates an issue. I'm practically rolled and folded into this bra...lol

I'd keep trying different solutions.. powders and slippery skin stuff made for runners, maybe even maxi pads placed in the bra to absorb moisture...

I get intertrigo so I totally get the irritating skin rash that hurts like hell. My treatment is potassium permanganate baths and an emollient called Dermol - use the emollient daily as a soap substitute and bath/ soak in the PP at least weekly.

Hope that maybe gives you some help

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
