Oh dear you guys I am feeling so disappointed in myself already!
First day of my pre-op diet today, and i went all good while I was at work but then I got home and I was starving and I just ate so much crap which I shouldn't have at all. Like canned tuna and cheese haha so random but it was just the first thing I could get my hands on that was instant food. Ugh feel quite disgusted in myself actually. The mental side of this is going to be such a struggle for me even after the surgery...I mean even though I know I am doing this for my health etc I still couldn't stop myself eating those things. Its like the hungry beast takes over and I lose control. So lame :/

I thought I had replied to you before, but I didn't see it. I am scheduled for the same day. I started my pre-op diet too. I've practiced it before, just so that I would know what to expect.... but starting the actual pre-op diet has been crazy. All of a sudden, I am craving foods because I know that I won't be able to eat them again. It truly messes with your head.
If you need someone to chat with, message me.

yes I am allowed 3-4 x Optifast products and 2 cups of vegetables from an approved list.
I probably went wrong as I only had 2 optifast products and some homemade vege broth so by the time I got home at dinner time I was starving and ate stupid things while I was cooking dinner.
Have had my big plate of veges now, and I'm feeling satisfied again. Tomorrow will be a better day I am sure!
Thanks for the suggestion, I might try that tomorrow veges for lunch and Soup for dinner instead maybe [emoji4]

I think you are lucky here. I am not allowed food. Strictly Protein Shakes. They did say sugar free popsicles and jell-o, but I can't have either because that type of stuff gives me indigestion. :(

If you have to use a fork or knife to eat it, probably don't.

If it's liquid, probably go for it.

Hope this helps :)

ps - Did they give you a nutritionist?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
