Whenever I went down a level (MO to SO to O to just plain fat) I did something special for myself. Once it was a trip to visit a bandster friend in another state, once it was getting my hair cut, colored, and highlighted at an extra fancy salon, once it was buying cool stuff to go with my computer. You should find something to reward yourself. Personally, I think it should be done at various milestones. It's fun and we deserve to reward ourselves.

I liked the hair thing the most, as you lose weight you look even better and I like doing things to improve my appearance.

My current reward is my tummy tuck... and maybe a boob job too.

That's a GREAT milestone to reach isnt it? Congratulations, you are now one of the "normal" members of the population.

And you'll feel, once you're not even overweight, that you look BETTER than 99% of people. So very many people are overweight these days that it now looks normal to us.

I like the hair idea! I need a cut and would love to get some highlights again. Thanks for the idea!

That is so true. When I tell my friend how much I still have to lose they can't believe I want to be "that skinny". My goal is actually just a normal BMI for me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
