Crazy and frustration the hospital wants 7632 upfront to remove the lapband my total cost 12, 000 what's the point of having insurance!

MC

I feel your pain. I have insurance and I have to pay my deductible before surgery. My deductible is $6,700! I haven't paid much out of pocket yet, so I will pay around $6,000. I saved up for this, but that is a huge chunk to pay.
Good luck with your band removal. Take care.

I'll have so many questions pre op and post op,it would be great to discuss issues with people on same journey.

Hello geets! This whole site is pretty much a giant support group. If you have questions, check out all the different forums and you can post questions there. Everyone on here understands and knows a lot. Play around on here and get used to it. It is very easy to navigate. We are all on the same journey. Some are preop, some are postop, some have had their WLS a while back, and we all help each other out. This is the best support group ever. A lot of people have Facebook groups too. Good luck!

Hi I'm BigTee and I'm having my bypass done on June 20 at the mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. I already have found a great surgery buddy, but I'm sure she would think the more there is of us supporting each other the better. So If anyone that is scheduled for the month of June want to buddy up let me know.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
