I had my psych evaluation yesterday, does anyone feel like they were trying to make you have an eating disorder? She kept talking about bringing and purging, I had to tell her several times I don't gorge on food and I don't make myself throw up. I had to complete 375 questions on a Scranton which was torture. I've had a psych evaluation to be law enforcement and I did my test by computer and the person who completed my evaluation didn't try to change my answers they accepted my honesty.

I had my psych eval yesterday and she just asked me a couple of questions and made sure I understood the surgery and made sure I had a support team. he approved me at the end of my session.

That's odd I think. My evaluation wasn't anything like that, to be honest it seemed like a formality for the most part.

Well my results should be ready by next week. Hopefully, everything is fine because I was honest with her. I told her I snack and that's been one of my biggest problems.

Did she say that she was going to clear you and recommend you for surgery?

Wow, mine was nothing like that she sat me at the desk in the lobby and left. I completed my test and turned it in to clerical.

She left because she had her daughter with her.

Hopefully she will approve it. All this has my anxiety through the roof. I have completed everything and on Monday they will submit my paperwork to the insurance. I hate the waiting game.

I hope so too.. It has been a long process. I will be finished with everything in June. I hope to get surgery in July.

I am dealing with something similar. I have a lady who seems determined to make me feel deeply flawed for gaining 100 lbs since my last child. Apparently she thinks my weight gain is caused by my childhood. She sent me to be evaluated for an eating disorder and the institute staff said I didn't meet the criteria. Apparently, this lady disagrees with the leading eating disorder institute in our metro area... the same one she sent me to! I have had my personal therapist (seen her weekly for 3 years) submit a letter at this women's request. That's not good enough either. I have had the inital consult, plus 2 appointments with her, plus the mmpi, then the mmpi results meeting where she said it was inconclusive (which I know 80% end up inconclusive b/c she told me), and now she wants to meet for 30 mins in May and 1 hour in June. WTF!

I feel your pain. I have done everything else since January and this women (desribed by me as about 110 lbs wearing 4 inch heels everyday - bugs me but not sure why... lol) seems bent on stalling by making up "what if's" every time we talk. I even called my insurance company thinking she was just trying to charge up as much as she could as she's contracted by the surgery clinic. Ugh!

Rant over! ;) Hope you have better luck.

That legitimately happened to me. She was baiting for more appointments and leaving me threatening messages saying that she was going to "change my report" if I did not listen to her. My hospital ended up dropping her and will no longer do business with this woman. I was not the only patient she did this to and then I found our retroactively that she had previous convictions for ethical violations. Long story short, I ended up having to file a complaint with the board of psychiatry and she's under investigation currently. Be careful who you chose and talk with your Bariatric team if you think something is off. I did and they moved me to a new evaluator ASAP to try and unravel the damage this lady had caused me.

Wow, I sure hope they don't try that with me. She spent 10 minutes with me before she left in my opinion that's not long enough to gage someone. Plus I was a little upset because they charged me $60 when my paper work they sent me said $25 for my copay. They said the appointment should have been 2 different days but they did it one day. So $25 for the 10 minutes I spoke to the therapist and $35 for the assessment I took in the lobby.

My advice is to be very clear, which it sounds like you are. If they ask for anything you think is unreasonable or sounds not in line with experiences of other folks on this app, then make sure to reach out to somebody before you become as frustrated as me [emoji35].

I am so sorry to hear that. That sounds awful! I'm glad you finally have someone normal.

The psychologist secretary said she faxed the information to the surgeons office today, but I haven't heard from the surgeon's office. I feel that we should be given a copy of the evaluation as well but I guess that's not how it goes.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
