  4. I saw my psychologist yesterday and was told that I was a "fair" candidate....whatever that means. He said that they want me to do a weight loss group (like WW or something similar) and prove that I can lose weight and keep it off, even though I have documented success doing this in the past. So I am confused as to whether I will be able to have surgery, or will have to lose some weight and "keep it off". And how can you actually tell if a person is going to keep weight off unless you follow them for an extended period of time? I too had the 375 question scantron sheet and torture isn't the word! LOL

  10. Awesome, thank you for responding and thank you for your service as well. So far, things have been going along pretty smoothly and it's taking about the same (or faster) time as what I'm reading here. Maybe I will be the exception! I am really nervous, but I meet with the surgeon on 5/25 to schedule a date. I started the process in Jan. and hope to have surgery in July. The nurse practitioner was aiming for June, but my birthday and anniversary are in June and I want to eat some sushi!

  13. Hello, Has anyone had the gastric sleeve performed by Dr. Maher in Richmond, VA? I meet him in a couple of weeks, and I can't find much about him on the internet. He will be performing my surgery at the Veterans Hospital. Can you share your experience please? Thank you so much!
