My surgery is 25 May... I can't wait as I've been on liquids for 7 weeks dues to swallowing issues

Hello! My surgery is scheduled for May 25th too. I started this journey in Nov 2016. I've lost and gained between 4 & 5 pounds. I have appt tomorrow with behavioral doc and certain I still haven't loss anything significant. Very frustrating.

I have final consultation with Surgeon on May 10th. Feeling tad defeated with pre-op weightloss expectations! {Heavy Sigh}

Hello friends, I'm curious if anyone can tell me how long it took for you to get approved for surgery from your first Orientation Meeting? I had my first meeting with the doctors on March 8th and still waiting for all the follow-up appointments.
Thanks.

I had my Orientation last week 4.20.17 and I not only met with my surgeon but also my coordinator. All of my pre-op visits were scheduled at that time which consists of 5 nutrition w/ 2 of those via phone; 1 physical therapy; and 1 psych eval. All of these will take 3-4 months and then it is submitted for FINAL approval. Which I'm told by my coordinator that her history with my insurance company usually takes 2 weeks on average. So I am looking at August/September 2017 surgery date. I think much of it depends on what your insurance requires then what your provider's program requires as well. My insurance only requires me to go to a surgeon and hospital that is a "Center of Excellence" and that my PCP provides a letter indicating he feels I will benefit from WLS. So all of my appointments are required by my program.

Ta Rena

      Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

      Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
