Idea for helping me reach a goal

Recommended Posts

I just had a really good idea to help me with this week's goal for myself. I've been eating a lot of stuff that isn't going to get me to where I want to be. I think all the sugar I ate at Christmas time has triggered a huge sugar binge. I've gotten to the point where I no longer feel guilty or "bad" because I've eaten stuff like candy, Cookies, etc. But, I know it's not going to help me get to where I want to be.

So- I'm going to get one of those little white wipeoff boards and put it on my fridge with my daily and weekly goals on it. I'll also put my reward on it as well. That way anytime I go into the kitchen I'll be reminded. I think I might put little stars on the days when I reached the goal for that day.

Watch out cookies and candy- your days in my life are numbered!

Here's another idea...

On your whiteboard, also write down all of the "snacky" things that you eat. It's amazing how much you cut back when you have to take that extra step and "admit" it to yourself!

Megan, you hit a good point. For me, the calories and fat in goodies don't bother me. It's the addiction they trigger that holds me down. Once I started by eating one or two, my body/mind/soul NEEDED more. I don't know how to break the horrible cycle again. I guess I need 2 bands.

Exactly Lisa...I'm done thinking food is good or bad...but it's the out of control obsessiveness that I HATE. My goal this week is to break the cycle. I'm taking a week off of sweets. I decided this after I had a snickerdoodle cookie for Breakfast.

You get 3 gold stars for only having A cookie. Yesterday I had five before noon. Today I had a Protein Shake that has chromium in it (like a diet pill for me.) So I've been good so far, and I already finished my daily Water requirement. I must be serious!

Why does chromium act like a diet pill for you? What happens? I NEED CHROMIUM!

Why do you have a hat and scarf on in your avatar? You live in Las Vegas...isn't it always 90 degrees there?

Megan, go find Penni's thread about "liquid vitamins" and you'll see a whole discussion on Chromium. I avoid it, but I bought a case of Advant Edge Protein Shakes without reading the label. After just one small shake, my whole house gets cleaned. Then Penni posted about her liquid vitamins saying they give her energy. So I looked at the label of the Vitamins, and sure enough, they contain chromium. But her Vitamins have half the chromium of the Advant Edge skakes. To me it's like taking a diet pill, but I think a certain amount of chromium is actually good for you.

And that's not a beanie and scarf, that's my swimming cap and towel because all we do in Vegas is bask in the sunshine. NOT... silly girl, it got into the 30s already this year! It even snows once every couple years for a few minutes! Yesterday it rained all day and stayed in the 40s. That's damn chilly for us lizzards.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
