HI everyone. welcome in the Slow Losers Section:)..... I am one too. Hey! we should have a Slow Losers Group or NEW Thread call FOR SLOW LOSERS! When I read all the people losing and losing.... not for me.

I am 54 yrs young, I was 225 before op (August 26) and arriving at home 3 days later I was at 218.

Now 15 days later.... I am at 214. It means I only lost 11 pounds total including the surgery. I do walk 45 min every day, and follow Protein, shake and mushy diet. This week I am stuck at 214.

This October will be one year that I don't have my periods. I was thinking that it is because of my hormones and getting older. I am discouraged. I thought that it would be so easy ! but NO !:rolleyes2:

What is >too much loosing> ? and what is <not enough loosing>? I think my band is not working after all... and it cost me 16 000$....

What do I do wrong?

Suzanne, you will lose! You just barely got your band! It takes time and it takes several fills. We do lose slower as we get older. Join us on the over 50's thread!

Good. You will get all kinds of support over in the 50's thread. There are a lot of new people getting banded in that group. Most of us do lose slower

as we get older, especially the people who have problems with exercise due to sore knees, etc.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
