Just got my new fill and don't know if it is too tight 6.5cc

Recommended Posts

Hi I just got my new fill 7 days ago to 6.5. I couldn't even eat a hotdog. I can't even eat noodles without it getting stuck and throwing up. It takes me 5 minutes to get it unstuck by coughing it up. Water goes down fine and I am less hungry. Uncooked veggies like cucumbers don't go down easy either. All I can have is porridge and chicken and fish. Beef gets stuck easily. When it gets stuck i lose my appetite. Just want to know if band gets easier or if I should loosen it by .05 cc to 6cc. I'm afraid of esophagous erosion and reflux which I don't have. I can stay at this level just have to chew all food forever to make sure it goes down easy. Did this sound like greenzone or red zone? Thanks for your help.

Yes, sounds too tight. I have 5.5 cc in mine. bread tends to get stuck regardless (for me) also steak and green leafy salad. I can eat romaine lettuce just fine, but spring greens tend to stick in my upper portion. I cut everything into super tiny bites (think pencil eraser), I eat sloooow and chew, chew, chew,.

Lap-banded and love it!

um no you sound normal sorry but some foods are now a no no list. I can not eat hotdogs and noodles can be a challange .But these are not foods you should be eatting . you just got a fill so it will need to go back to square one for awhile. make sure your bites are not too big and chew slowly. find some better Protein options .

Hmmm sorry but it sounds normal to me as well!!! I can not eat hot dog -especially the sausage- 1,5 year after the surgery. And I don't really care to eat it again. This kind of **** brought me to the lap-band surgery. You have to eat slowly... and chew chew chew.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
