I admit I'm guilty of weighing in probably 6 days out of 7. I've been on a steady decline since surgery on 1/25 and have been so giddy as seeing the weight coming off. I know it's a double edged sword once I hit an inevitable stall, though, but I think I've prepared myself mentally for it so that I don't freak out. At least that's what I tell myself...lol :P

I do it everyday twice a day I have hit my goal weight and it helped when I found myself slip to get back on track because I saw that scale move in the wrong direction anything more then 2lb up I'm checking myself. I know people say it's not healthy but to me it motivated me to keep pushing to get to goal

I weigh in every morning. It works for me to keep me on track but, you have to be prepared for the stalls and such. For me it's more focus driven. Eyes on the prize and all that.

I have weighed daily since I began my six-month pre-op diet program last March. I am trying to transition to weighing only once per week, but I still get on the scale more mornings that I do not.

I weigh myself every morning. I like knowing how I'm doing and if there was any change. Maybe when I'm further out I won't feel the need to weigh daily, but honestly I don't feel like it hurts anything. I don't get upset if my weight is up a bit from yesterday, and I find great comfort in being down any slight bit, so this is what works for me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
