Congratulations Mandi! :)

Looking forward to some pureed food myself, but not till March 1st. Not sure what food I will try first, what did you start with?

I'm 14 weeks post op.

On the pureed stage, one of the first things I tried that sounded good to me was refried Beans with a little bit of light sour cream. Not bad at all. I also tried mashed sweet potato and Egg Beaters. The food I ate the most of on the pureed stage was canned chicken. I would mix it with a little bit of light mayo and make a little chicken salad out of it. I concentrated on getting my Protein first, which is so important, so I didn't venture out into starchy mashed veggies that much.

I can't say I was very adventurous, but the mashed canned chicken turned into chicken salad worked great for me for the short two weeks of the pureed stage. Also, I made a ricotta bake on the pureed stage once that was really good. The recipe can be found at theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com. She has other pureed food recipes on her site for bariatric patients.

Do you guys purée eggs too or have you been eating them normally? I think my NUT mentioned eating them poached or scrambled during the purée stage of the diet

I have another week of purred, before soft diet for 1 week, then regular. Thank goodness for Protein Water, it helps get the protein in. I am done with cottage cheese, makes me gag. tuna so far mixed with a tbsp of lite mayo has been filling, but I"m about over that too. Grilled chicken chopped up small and then chewed completely has been good. Yogurt has been good, I can't do mash potatoes, makes me sick, thinking about roasting some sweet potatoes then mashing them. And i'm done with refried Beans too. Can't wait to be done with this phase. Not sure what I want to eat, but I know what I don't want to eat!

BUT.... we got this! Just need to keep moving along. :)

tuna and chicken salad taste the same at any consistency. That's what got me through the purée stage.

I'm in puree for another week, I've been living off the same things everyday:

Meal 1 - poached egg, 2.5 melba toast and 1/2 cup of applesauce

Meal 2 - cottage cheese 2/3 cup

Meal 3 - refried Beans 2/3 cup (I blend it with salsa and cheese and greek yogurt for extra protein)

Meal 4 - ricotta bake

Meal 5 - greek yogurt

Meal 6 - 2 laughing cow wedges with 6 whole week soda crackers

I just can't stand the Protein Drinks anymore.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
