Just saying hi!

Hi twenty-somethings, I'm Emily and I was sleeved Feb 9. :) It's been tough already so I wanted to join these forums to get some support. I'm going to grad school in June and full time employed right now (I spent 3 days in the hospital and went back to work the next day, ugh!) so I'm super busy. Looking for buddies to share our pain! Lol.

Had my sleeve feb 8th! Things have been going pretty well, im just now starting to get mental hunger!! I want a sandwich so bad but im just starting soft foods and scared to try anything thats not broth/soup. Cant wait for this stage of fearful eating to be over. But down 25lbs so yay!!

Congrats!! I will be sleeved at the end of March. I have already planned for 9 days off after the surgery so I can just focus on recovery. Can I ask how was the first week after surgery for you guys?

Hey to both of you! @kkami12, I'm currently pretty much eating nothing but Protein shakes and Soup and I just want more all the time, so I feel that pain. I'd give my left hand for a slice of pizza :P @Thejeweledsleeve, let me just say that the first four days or so were pretty hellish, but the last three days up to now have been (knock on wood) pretty decent. Well, let me rephrase. The day of surgery, I was on cloud nine still coming off from anesthesia. Lol. But the day after I felt absolutely awful. It does pass though.

Hi guys! I walked 2.2 miles today so I'm proud of that. 16 pounds down in 16 days since the surgery, so I guess being miserable is worth it ;) Keep me updated on your progress!

Hi Emmy, I was sleeved on the 9th too! I'm still in the liquid stage until next Thursday then soft foods (although I cheated a bit today pure wing egg salad! It was delicious, but stomach didn't like it too much)

Great job on the walking! Do you use a Fitbit? I'm in a group of other sleevers to motivate our daily steps, if you wanna join us, search for me and friend me at vban@charter.net

You should really consider getting a FitBit. I have the blaze and I love it!! I do step challenges with Co-workers. It is a fun way to keep track of your steps and you can also sync your MyFitnessPal or WeightWatchers with it.

@IssaSnack with Protein I do tend to hit my goals, almost entirely thanks to Protein shakes and unflavored Protein powder that I put in Soup :P Water I'm not as good with, almost never hitting 64 ounces, but I get close only because I use a whole bunch of flavors of crystal light. Plain Water is not my thing at all.

I can't wait to get out of liquids! I also plan to get that fitbit, I don't have one yet, but I want one. I can't have food, so I should get to have cool new toys. Lol

I got the flex 2, which I liked because it's swim proof and I hope to do a good amount of swimming when I'm cleared to do so at my follow up :)

That is a great one to get. They have come a far way since the original fitbit.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
