Mentor Needed

Recommended Posts

I am a year out and need a mentor ! I am starting to lose focus. Old habits are starting to creep back and feeling a little out of control. I am down 60 pounds and really would love to go another 20 to 40 but cant seem to motivate myself. I have not been back to the doctor or the NUT - My first mistake was thinking I could do this on my own. I need to just restart and not sure how. Thanks !

I'm in the pre op phase. My suggestion would be to reflect on how you feel now verses how you felt before worth the bad habits. See if there is a support group available. I go to meetings once a month. My psychologist told me not to wait for motivation because you will never be motivated to exercise so you just have to do it. Congratulations on how far you've come so far.

1 year out this month. I started keeping track of everything I put in my month. I have lost 100 lbs in one year. Focus on how you feel now and why you did this in the first place. YOU can do this friend, DONT GIVE UP. It isn't looking great for me which is important , It's FEELING GREAT!!! Don't give up!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
