Approved but scared.

Recommended Posts

I am having the same feelings as well. Been approved by insurance finally (no date yet) and will be having surgery by next month, most likely. I am also scared and nervous but also excited to continue with my weight loss journey.
You're not alone in this. Stay positive and look to the future.
Good luck with your WLS journey as well and keep us updated :)

I had surgery on Monday. I posted on here your same fears. I was nervous and questioning my decision all the way until surgery day. The morning of surgery my fears were gone. I envisioned the new me and I wanted that. My husband and son have been so supportive to this drastic change in our lives.

Today I have very little pain except for some gas pain that gas-x helps me with. I feel absolutely no hunger or desire to eat. Thankfully because all I can do is drink for the next two weeks:-)

Just getting to the point of having a date requires strength. You can do this. I have zero regrets at this point. And I understand it only gets better from here..

Starting my liquid 2 week diet before my bypass surgery this Wednesday [emoji1374]. I hope I am strong enough to get through the next 2 weeks. I have no willpower or get up and go. I keep saying to myself, once I have the operation it will be fine and just a few weeks/months struggle.
Excited, nervous but also can't wait for my new life and journey to begin [emoji1374]

I'm so glad I decided to join this forum! Just found out today my date is March 27. It took 2 years to get approved. During the whole process, I felt the same way that someone else mentioned: if I was denied, I could blame the insurance company. At least I could say I tried.

Now that it's official, it seems surreal. I'm a wide awake ball of nervous energy and can't sleep. I'm excited but really scared. Not so much of the surgery, but the whole process of becoming a new person. I'm overwhelmed.

Plus, I've only only told a handful of people. I haven't even told my mother yet! Almost none of my friends and family know I'm having bypass surgery. I'm really private and emotionally locked up. I didn't want to have to explain anything just in case insurance denied it.

So that's where I am right now. Posting here in hope of getting some much needed support from others who are going on this journey too.

Thank you so much! I have to. I have to prove to myself that I'm motivated. I had my preop appointment today and now it feels that much more real.

I had my class back in November. This appointment was just for labs mainly. While there they did labs, gave me the antibacterial soap I'll need to use the night before and morning of, a card that I'll need for after if I decide to eat that will let the restaurant know that I can only eat smaller portions, and a sticker that went on the back of my drivers license that needs to be shown in case of emergencies that end me up into the hospital.

I met with my surgeon again, for the second time, and just went over what would happen during surgery. That was about it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
