Pain on right side?

Recommended Posts

HAHAHA LOL... OK Hypochondriasis it is:nervous

Heh...

Lots of people complain of port pain. I have a lot of port site tenderness but I think that might be because since I have lost all the padding that used to cover it - things irritate it such as belts and such. There are days I can't run because my port hurts.

It's sewn into the fascia which is connective tissue above a muscle and below a fat pad and it takes very little to irritate it.

I have thought about all those things, but it is a sharp, stabbing pain that lasts two-three days and is worse pain then both my c-sections and my band surgery! I don't know for sure, but it seems like there is something wrong. I get better for a few days then it comes again. The only thing I can do is take 2 Vicodin and go to sleep! :tired It has been going on for the past 5 weeks, I am getting so tired of it. Hopefully it will just go away soon! Thank you for all of your imput, I have found it very valuable! :clap2:

I am totally new to all of this. What brought me to this site is the pain on my left side too. My port is under my left breast. For two to three weeks after my surgery, there was definately port pain whenever I moved or twisted, but that has totally healed. What I have had since I was banded the beginning of March is pain on my left side near my ribs. It does feel like a stitch and worsens if I take a deep breath. It is constant. I keep telling myself it will go away and get better and heal, but I am worried. It is great to hear that so many of you have this same pain!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
