I only told a few people because I don't want to hear the negative comments. This is my personal journey and I plan to keep it that way. When people ask what I'm doing to lose weight, I tell them the following: I haven't had Diet Coke or sugar since August 1st. In November, I cut out all refined carbs. My diet is made up of Protein, veggies, few fruits, lots of Water and exercise. None of that is a lie.

How did you manage to completely reduce sugars? I'm having a hard time. I'm not eating any sweets or chocolate, haven't since my birthday (12/15), but drinks are killing me. I've said this before, but I drink OJ and I have had regular lemonade, about 5-10 oz, diluted with a liter of water.

Not regular as in every day, regular as in no other flavors but plain.

@@CrowMilk the meal plan I'll be following says that I can have up to 4 ounces of juice a day. Dilute it with Water to make 8 ounces. The juice should be 100% orange, apple, grape, etc. As for lemonade, maybe put a tablespoon of straight lemon juice in a glass of Water.< /p>

@@CrowMilk I went cold turkey. It wasn't easy but it wasn't too bad either. It's not to say that I don't get "head hunger" for sweets but so far, I've been able to avoid them. Those dang Protein Drinks (Premier) are so sweet that I think it takes away my desire from anything else. I do eat a sugar free popcycle at night, and call it my dessert. I had a harder time going cold turkey from caffeine. I actually hated life for about a week and everybody in my office that I work with, got on my last nerve! I'm not allowed any type of juice on my plan, but I've never been a juice drinker. Again, love my popcycles.

Yes. I believe the secret eating plan is still alive and well.

I just don't care for others knowing if I can eat a decent lunch ... or fill up and not eat more that 4 bites. Or worse, have it come up ! I do eat many small meals at home ...

I haven't had any issues with negative comments. Then again I never post anything on Facebook and have all of 2 friends and am also a recluse at work. Lol.

Lol. This made me chuckle.

It is completely normal to be hated on. Then again we all knew it was going to happen. Submitting to weight loss surgery we have to be mentally prepared for whatever comes our way good or bad. Cant let it get to us in a good or bad way. Move fwd and do yourself regardless of the jealousy or envy that surrounds u. ????

My coworkers make comments like you eat slow or is that all you are having. When I am out to dinner and I ask for a to go box, the people I am with are like you didn't eat much? Is something wrong with your food? I feel like I am constantly explaining myself to people and making horrible excuses on why I didn't eat my food. I just wish everyone would mind their own business!!

I've been fairly open about, but for the few who do ask, I tell them all the same thing: "That food pyramid shit really works."

That's all I really did pre-op and post is follow the food pyramid, albeit if a small one.

I sometimes get a whiff of jealousy, but as irritating as it is, it's also kinda cool. I don't think anyone has ever been jealous of my body before. I'll take it.

I am almost two years out and 178 pounds down. Some people discredit by loss because of the surgery, but I don't let them get me down. I know how hard I have worked and continue to work. If I am feeling catty, I usually go INTO DETAIL about my workout regime. People tend to hush then. When people talk about diets, I try to educate them on proper nutrition. Diets may help someone lose weight but they are a band aid for a huge problem. It's a temporary fix. I would just tell your friend that you are focusing on long term solutions by eating well and exercising.

***Disclaimer...this is my story...not a directive***

I told everyone as soon as I knew which was 6 months prior to surgery. I answered every question they had about it before hand and rebutted every concern. By three months post-op, everyone saw how hard I was working to stay on plan. They saw me walk the parking lot at work twice, three times a day.

I have HEARD nothing but support, but what they say behind my back...that's on them and may the hate in their hearts help them find the nearly 70lbs I lost. (kidding) (kinda)

Everyone at work knows, everyone in my personal life knows, everyone in my online life knows, AND I blog about it.

Nothing, but love.

@@AMJK79 Wait staff just can't get over the idea that I DON'T want at least a glass of Water with my meal. I would say, "to hell with it" and let them bring it and just not drink it, but I don't want to accidentally take a drink.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
