Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi

I have decided to get the procedure done - just have to save up for it. I live in uk and want to go to Brussels as it seems cheapest and safest there. Anyone know of the above?

Thanks

As i have said before seeing someone like you lossing all that weight gives me the belive that it can be done .So that has given me the insperation to go for it .

By no means has it been easy but i would definitely recomend it to anybody thinking about getting the band it does work .x

Here, here bobo, well said. Flirty is an insperation to us all.. think your there aswell, insperation to all that read this forum, well done x

Welcome to the forum alex, at least you havnt got weeks or months to get nervous about your up coming op lol, i would take nurofen melts (painkillers) dressings from boots for when you get home and you want to change them, your biggest cut will be about 1 1/2 inches, i took slimfast and cup a soups for after op at the hotel, also take loose comfy clothes and slip on shoes or trainers as you wont be able to bend down, any questions ask away. goodluck x

Welcome to the site alex! think wishfull covered most things there! also get some bottled water at the hotel for when you get back from hospital! you will be more thirsty than anything. also if you have time get some chewable multi vitamins as well. most people here take them every day as your diet will be low to start with and you won't get everything you need!

thanks for all the replies guys its nice of u to take the time . i have never been on a site like this so im probablly not doing it right !!!! my husband is not happy at all that im having it done he says i should just diet and that he loves me the way i am !!! nice to hear but does not help the situation !!! so is it key hole surgery ???? or will i be left with scars ??? i will get everything u have all advised me to get . how much weight should i expect to loose i have prob got 5 and a half stone to loose to get back down to what i was before my 2 children . xxxxxx:smile::wink2::)

Your husband maybe happy as you are but you have to be happy with yourself also! He's probably just worried about you! You will have 5 scars in total but as it is keyhole they are very small!

I have been banded 5 weeks now and have lost a couple of pounds shy of 2 stone!!!!!!!

It should take you to long as long as you follow the rules!!!

Hey alex my partner was the same.. loves me what ever but he knew how i felt about my weight and had too much to lose on my own, he was worried sick while we were in belgium b4 surgery, but once i was back on the ward he was fine, you have got to do what is right for you, my scars have healed really well and fading nicely. you wont regret making the decision to have the op or that you have chosen dr chris x

Make sure you get the chewable mulivitamins like odgemodge said, your body in the 1st few months doesnt get everything it needs as your diet is limited, my hair started coming out but seems to have stopped now, thankgod. i just have boots own multivits, orange flavour, im trying to think if there is anything else x

wow 2 stone in 5 weeks thats amazing !!!! i hope i do that great . 5 scars sounds alot but do they fade within time ????? can u go on sun beds do u know ????? thanks 4 replying guys im packing my case as we speak !!!xxx:smile::):wink2:

yeah ill deffo get the vitamins as my hair is my pride and joy the one thing i really like bout myself so will deffo keep it looking healthy thanks 4 the tip xx:smile::wink2:

The scars are small the biggest being where the port is and thats about 1 1/2 inches, dont know about sun beds, i was wonering that myself.. dont fancy putting plasters on them while on one lol. i did sit in the sun the other week when it was hot and they were fine, i only had factor 2 on x

:wink2: welcome alex..your lucky to get that cancellation!..cos when you make your mind up you want band done, you want it done yesterday!..it is very usual to lose a stone in first couple of weeks, and then you lose more gradually, it seems to come to a bit of a plateau for a few weeks before starting up again..the fills then get you going again. i would think that realisticly you will have lost all your weight in 9 to 12 months. its still quite hard work, and we all hope its gonna drop off in few weeks, but it would be wrong if it did, the best and safest way is 1 to 2 lb a week after the initial stone or two..and whatever you lose, you will never see it again, thats the best bit, and the difference to a normal diet, where we would have given up and then put it all and more back on. anyway, youll be in great hands with dr chris, and the hospital is excellent..good luck and let us know how you went on when you get back, oh and by the way i started going on sunbed once a week about 2 weeks after, not been on em for weeks now but sat in the sun and i think its helped with the fading. gillian x

Hello Alex and welcome.

Like yourself I don't usually go on forums but I'm so so glad I did join this one. The people here are THE best!

I was banded last Friday by Dr Chris. I posted my journey on pg 341 if you'd like to read what happens when you get to brussels etc, that's if you booked the package directly through Frederik or Dr Chris. If you booked through Bridget the taxi's are not included.

Best of luck, you lucky thing getting done so quick.

Alex, dont worry about the scars they do fade, and when they're healed properly try using Bio Oil, its great for scars and also for stretch marks.

I've got 10 scars, cos I have been banded twice. Both bands were implanted by Michael Van den Bossche, not in belgium, but in the bupa Southampton.

My first band eroded, very unusual...I loved the band that much that I got it done again, so that should tell you that you have made the right choice.

The girlies here have done so well with their weight losses I am really amazed.

Mines been slow cos i gave up smoking, sorry to say i started again 2 weeks ago, cos I felt the weight wasnt shifting as fast as it could have.

Plus i dont have much will power, a friend stayed for the weekend and she smokes a lot, I couldnt eat could hardly drink, so started the fags again...yeh I know...stupid!!

I wasnt going to pay all that money to have the smoking thing stop me losing.

Anyway chick, you will be home before you know it, dont forget to tell us how you go on.
