Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi

I have decided to get the procedure done - just have to save up for it. I live in uk and want to go to Brussels as it seems cheapest and safest there. Anyone know of the above?

Thanks

morning freckles!..that sounds really scary that overfill your daughter and friend had..im really scared of getting there! it seems that some people dont realise til later that day or night..nervous of my next fill now..at the rate im feeling at the mo, i wont be having another fill for a while anyway, ill just get used to this restriction first. hope your mums assesment goes well, that would be lovely for her to go into the home she likes..your mind would be at rest too..so fingers crossed! x

Hi Everyone

Just thought i would comment on overfills, i was overfilled last time and after an hour my mum had to take out 0.5ml. At first i didnt think the fill had made a diference as i sipped wated and it went down fine so stupidly i drank half a glass of water really quickly (looking back i cant actually believe i did that!.) The water got stuck as there was no where for it to go and i could feel it in my throat still, it was really painfull and in the end i pb'd it. I was still in alot of pain but wanted to wait a while to see if it was just inflamed but after 45 mins i was still throwing up the spit i was trying to swallow as it could not travel through the band (sorry for the graphic detail!) As soon as i had the liquid drawn from the band the relief was amazing... So there you go over fills are awful!

thanks for that advice carrie, im scared stiff of getting an overfill..it seemed scary enough for you and you even have your mum on hand to unfill you which is really lucky for you!..but i wouldnt know what to do?!..what would our hospitals say if we went to A&E with that problem?..would they know how to un fill it properly as its a special needle?...oooh hope i dont get to ever find out! im going to go so steady!..you have 5.5 in at mo, does that feel right for you?..does it change?..will you be able to take some more fill at a different time do you think?..im getting nervous cos i have 5.25 at mo, and going in another 12 days for maybe another fill!..i know i only had fill two days ago but i have a lot of restriction now and i dont feel like i want anymore..do you think it will ease off after i have finished liquids tomorrow, and it is just initial tightness..whats your experience of this?..sorry for all questions! x

you know what i would luv it.

The hospital would have the correct needles as i think they use them for anyone that recieves medication through a port system such as cancer patients (i think this is right not completley sure.) My port is really easy to access but some people have them under there ribs and stuff but even if they were not sure they could do it via ultra sound or something. You should wait and see what your restriction is like because you can get tighter for up to a week after a fill as everything settles down and thats what i normally find. If after a week your restriction is still good then there is no point paying for another fill when you dont need it as you will just be uncomfortable and out of pocket! I think most people that get an unfil are probably just too tight the next day when the fluid settles etc and then they find that they cant eat that well and everthing gets stuck. If you stupidly get as much of a fill as i did and you cant swallow etc then whoever does your fill would know straight away and take some out before you could leave!

Gillian my daughter and also her friend just phoned the hospital and they had a nurse on hand in the Spire to do defills if need be.

I'm sure if that happened you would have to phone your fill person and ask them if they could remove some for you, in their experience they knew in a couple of hours they were overfilled.

I flew home with Rachel's friend from Southampton and she had a large plastic cup full at the end of the hour flight back to Manchester.

Dont worry too much, just ask next time you go if they have an emergency service/phone number in case of an overfill.

If you worry about it, your band will tighten up anyway.

My Mum has a hacking cough, and is not yet been given anything for it. I'm pretty certain its a chest infection from whats coming up, but they have sent some off to the lab after I showed the staff nurse.

Now they are 'growing' it and waiting to see what antibiotics to give her...Ffs sake!!

The matron of the home says if she does have a chest inf. then we will have to wait for her course of pills to finish, because it could develop into pneumonia.

I really dont know what to think now, I told them last week she had a sore throat, and they didnt do anything about it.

I bought some Oraldine and gargled her throat a few times for her, but it needed doing every few hours.:)

It just never stops does it.:smile2:
