Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Recommended Posts

Hello Bansters and all the newbies!

Congratulations Scooby Doo x x x

Hope everyone had a Good Crimbo & New Year.

I lost 8lbs Christmas week taking me to 19lbs lost in the last 5 weeks, 63lbs in total now and boy have people started to notice since I have been back to work this week after the Crimbo break.

Finally broke my silence and told someone at work what I'd had done, as I couldn't lie to her about how I'd lost weight when she was asking me for tips. She is totally intrigued and wants all Dr Chris's info as she is considering it herself.

The last few weeks have been tough as still having odd days when I can't keep a thing down, but now that the scales have started shifting again I feel great! My whole body is changing and it is amazing to see it and feel it.

Chucked out loads of fat clothes and cut off all my long hair into a little bob cos my confidence is growing. Went for my first run yesterday too which was ok actually, want to start doing that 2-3 times a week as I need to start firming up.

Good luck to everyone to those already on this journey, and of course to all those about to start it.

Hi Slinky

I have had 4 fills now so have got 7.5 mls in my band, I had 5 month gap between fill in June and my last one in Nov due to a holiday and then lack of funds, so would have been much further along my journey now had I had a fill sooner. Hey ho I'm on my way now.

What I am struggling with most is the amount of mucus I have which seems to block the band all the time and takes up to 4 or 5 productive burps before I can keep down my little bits of food.

sometimes just swallowing a few times creates a layer which then has me dashing off to the loo and bringing most of the food from say an hour before back up, and drinking Water at any time seems to make mucus worse, so all I have to drink most days is cranberry or pomegranate juice which seems to cut through it and pass ok. Very odd.

pureed food just doesn't work for me either, but lots of liquid does, so lots of gravy on a few matchsticks of meat is good. Soups and petite filou are my staples.

Does anyone else have the issue with mucus?

Hi All

I was banded back in Macch last year (2010) and I've a great weight loss, just over five stone, which is wonderful, and I havn't had a fill since August - all good so far!

Until this week I got a bug from my son and for a few days at the start of week was feeling very unwell with an upset stomach which lasted no more then 48 hours but since I've hardly been able to keep anything down, even today some Water came up all I've managed to eat today is an M&S fish cake and even that I could only eat half, I feel really tired as I'm not getting much at all into me.

Has anyone had this?

Thanks

Hi peoples, not been here for a while, the last was when I treated myself to a de-fill begining of December.

I put on 4lbs up to Boxing day which wasnt bad, but since then have put on another 5lbs, so annoyed at myself, its gonna take me 3 months to get that off now.

Going for a fill on Thursday 13th Jan, so I hope Freddyboy can get the 3mls back in, I'll die if he cant.

This has taught me that if ever I want a break from the damn acid reflux then I only need to get 2mls out.

I only have 3.5mls in now and can eat anything and in fairly good portions too.

My daughter looks slimmer but says she hasnt lost anything except the initial 5lbs. She only has 3mls in but is going for her second fill the same day as me.

Hope everyone had a good Xmas and New Year and good luck to all the pre-bandsters, you wont ever regret it.

Hi Slinx, have missed your banter lol

Hello All

Happy New Year! Taken me a while to get on been hit by jetlag really badly still not really turned around and we have been back a week.

Congratulations to all those going to be banded and those that are having steady results. For those that have indulged it will come off be patient.

Over the three weeks we were away I lost quite a bit.

Total loss is 59.5 pounds and 50 inches. The walking really helped and I feel much fitter.

So another 41.5 pounds.

Had an interesting appointment with my GP on Friday who did a double take bless him and was beaming from ear to ear about how much I had lost. I went to see him about a breast reduction/lift. In 2004 I was referred and accepted onto the list and the criteria was a BMI of 30 imagine how gutted I am to be so close to this and be told that the criteria is now a BMI of 25! Okay so new target set but he wouldn't refer me as he said it would be rejected as my BMI is 32.3. So I have to go back in a few months and see where I go from there. I really would like this done over the summer holidays so I have 6 weeks recovery.

I have enquired with Frederik as well. I would rather not pay for it especially as I had the funding before so shall perservere. NHS funding seems to be so stringent. I have really bad ezcema under the breasts and in the cleavage area and the pain in my shoulders and upper back has been phenomenal since I lost weight. I also have a vertebra missing (T10) which makes my back a little more unstable. So all in all the weightloss has really helped but I am in quite a lot of pain and have locking up in the shoulders frequently.

Anyway the journey has been interesting and I am so pleased that I had this procedure done. I feel renewed, a lot healthier and happier. People at work have started to notice and I have been very open and honest about it and said what I have had done. When I reach my next target 75 pounds I am going to Celebrate (not sure how but I will think of something!).

Take care and have a good Sunday.

Claire

hi slinky,

thanks for ur reply earlier on. I have my flights booked, deposit paid. now just waiting for the D day. I keep thinking alot about it sometimes having second thoughts but I think it's normal.there is so many Q in my head and really no one to talk to. But I try to deal with it different ways. I was thinking, could u tell me if the rest of the money can be paid by credit card or it has to be cash...?maybe u know anybody who did it by credit card, I know u transferred all ur money to the account but was just wandering. Its a bit scary to carry all that cash.

thank u

hope u r ok

all the best and talk to u soon.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
