I had my surgery done with him. I highly suggest taking someone with you, they have a sofa and sleeping bag for your guest in your room. They also stay at your hotel the last night. I didn't have anyone with me, and looking back, I wish I had.

Thank you for your post. My husband is coming a long with me. I am scared and feel like I want to back out. How was ur over all experience with Dr. Quinones? How are you doing now, when was your surgery?

It was overwhelming at first. I flew in the day of surgery, got picked up in San Diego, drove to the clinic and immediately started filling out paperwork. I also met with Dr. Quinones before surgery, he speaks perfect English, and answered all of my last minute questions. Unfortunately, my surgery was the last one of the day since I arrived last, so I had a bit of a wait until they got me for surgery. I could have used someone to help calm my nerves. The entire staff was kind, and they always have a translator there, 24/7. My first 24 hrs after surgery was not great. I was constantly nauseated. And I was second guessing my decision. I didn't feel hardly any pain, but that nausea was too much. Turns out, they had me on narcotics for pain and an anti-nausea. Once I realized what they had me on, I asked them to stop the pain meds and only give me anti-nausea. I had a complete turn around after that. I was able to walk around a lot more and even felt up to talking to the other patients. I was able to laugh and smile again, so then I knew everything was going to be alright. My surgery was Nov 21, 2016. I am doing well. Other than how little I eat, I have no other indicators or issues I had surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Q and his staff.

What about your after care? I am so concerned about my after care. I was told that if something went wrong that the doctors here in the US would not touch me. I would have to go back to Mexico if I needed treatment!

I am heading to Pompeii Surgery for gastric sleeve op in Feb.

My daughter was there in sep/16 and is doing amazing. She had a wonderful experience. I am taking her with me so my anxiety level is good. I am also a diabetic but feel this is my only chance to get off meds and lower my insulin. I am from Canada and my dr told me they will look at me if any problems after, but I will have to pay cash for anything they need to do that's related to my sleeve surgery. My daughter went shopping at the mall that is close to the surgical suite on day 2 or 3 after being sleeved. I'm hoping to do the same thing.

I will keep you posted. We leave on Feb 1st. Surgery is on the 3rd.

She is down 75 lbs since pre op diet. She looks amazing. She is so happy. It has been an adjustment but she swears it's the best thing she's ever done.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
