How fast are you losing weight?

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering how fast you all are losing weight? I've heard some people say 1lb/day. But im just wondering what other people's experiences are?

I'm 3 months out and dropping maybe 2 to 3lbs a week and maybe a bit more. Im not working out just yet, things are really crazy right now. Just kind of coming around to an eating schedule of sorts.

I just hit 4 months out as of yesterday and I am 81 lbs down. So I'm averaging 20.25 a month, but I know that isn't right lol. I lost about 25 just the first month, it slowed down a little after that but has remained steady. As long as its going down I don't care how fast :). I work out every day though. Everyone is different, but I'm extremely happy with my results.

people lose at all different rates for a whole hosts of reasons (age, gender, metabolism, starting weight, etc). It's sort of pointless to compare yourself to others, because the only control you really have is sticking to your plan (or not...). Just so you know, I was a slow loser - and I've lost 227 lbs. Hard work and commitment to your plan make a huge difference - not how fast (or slow) it comes off.

So my average is better than 2 lbs weekly. Going slow, but losing, hoping my head and skin will keep up with my snail pace.

I had my surgery on 11/21/2016, and I have lost an average of 2.5 pounds a week over the past 7 weeks. I have lost a total of 17.6 pounds since my surgery.

I have had a week where I have lost over 5 pounds, and some weeks where I lost nothing, though. I would like to add that I haven't been exercising yet. I have had some issues after surgery - nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and I have already had to have my pouch dilated (at which point they found 5 ulcers) - all these things have kept me from being active. I can't wait to see how things go once I feel better and can exercise again.

I am nine days post surgery. I lost 20 pounds in the first week- which is as disturbing as it is encouraging. Up to around 25 pounds now, so slowing to about 2 pounds a day. My clothes definitely feel looser, but I don't see or feel any obviously weight loss spots.

Had bypass on 12/30/16 and steady at losing 5lbs per week. No official exercise as I get tired quickly.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
