  3. I have Ulcerative Colitis and had gastric bypass surgery on January 23rd. No complications and have been successful. In fact, my UC has never been so controlled. To date, I am down 55lbs. Happy to answer any specific questions you may have. Best of luck on your journey.
  4. I was ready to go back to work, office job, after 1 week off. That said, everyone is different. I recommend planning for one week and if you can go back sooner - you're good to go.

  9. My nutritionist cautioned me about gummies as they can contain high amounts of sugar. You want to watch for that. I use the Celebrate brand of chewable vitamins and supplements and they taste fine, with the exception of iron, which I could not tolerate. I went to the Patch MD iron patches and so far so good.

  11. I use the Celebrate brand chewable supplements, including my multivitamin, and they are more than tolerable. I recommend them. That said, I could not tolerate any oral iron supplements so I am using the patches for iron, by Patch MD . So far so good with my levels.

  15. My pulmonary doctor told me to call and schedule a sleep study after a 50 lbs loss. I started with about 115lbs of excess weight.
  16. I had my surgery (RNY) on 1/23, also and I am down only 14lbs post op. I have my 1 month appt with my surgeon tomorrow and I'm hoping to be cleared for exercise - more than walking - to maybe jumpstart my weight loss a little. It's reassuring to know that we are not alone.
  17. Sounds like you may be getting otherwise sick and not necessarily related to your surgery. Do your best to get your water in...need to stay hydrated. Hope you feel better soon.
  18. You should call your MD. Need to be cautious of blood clots this soon post op. Better safe than sorry!
  19. I was instructed to start full supplements 1 week post op. Gummies are discouraged because most are high in sugar.

  21. This question is asked often and I think it varies quite a bit. Everyone responds differently. I had RNY on 1/23 and returned to my desk job on 1/30. I had planned on working from home the 2nd week but I felt ready to go back. Again, we all respond differently so there is no one answer fits all, really. Best of luck on your new journey.
  22. I started using Frank's Red Hot Sauce about 2 weeks post op, on my soft foods, and tolerated it perfectly fine. Regarding hard candy, my nutritionist said sugar free hard candies are fine but in moderation. Congratulations on your new beginning.
  23. Hi. I have been taught that it does not count but I agree there are differing opinions out there. Decaf tea - especially herbal teas - do count towards your fluid intake and are very good for you.
