I just want to warn gastric bypass patients that at 16 days post op don't take a bite of cake. I have no idea what caused me to do that becayse i have followed my plan completely but I paid dearly in pain for several minutes afterwards. I thought it was going down fine but no in fact it did not. I couldn't do anything but wait. I thought I was going to vomit for a few minutes but no such luck. I just had to wait. It was really bad and I definitely learned my lesson. Just a bite will hurt!

Dumping syndrome is a good educational tool. It quickly teaches you what you do not want to do ever again.

James Marusek, I have been reading your comments, since September, 2016. I copied your articles about surviving WLS. Thank you, they were very well done. I had the bypass RNY on Dec. 27, 2017. I have had no problems. I have not weighed, doctor asked us not till my appointment. My taste has changed. My body seems to be changing daily. Things are going so fast physically and emotionally, I can barely keep up. I struggle with lack of desire to eat and drink, it is gone, as you said it would. The struggle is on...I sip and keep a record, so I know what to work on. I just re-read your articles and caught your suggestion to spike my Decaf coffee with Protein. I think you used hot chocolate. Thank you again, for taking the time to write those articles. P's: I just made a batch of your chili, it is quite good.

@@JHDR if you decide to drink hot cocoa, remember to buy the sugar free variety in the supermarkets.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
