Melanie:

I was banded three days after you. I'm still adjusting to the band, but overall it's going well. I've lost 24 pounds since surgery, and 39 pounds before surgery. Down 63! :clap2:I still haven't had a fill yet. Have you? I'm going to see my surgeon next Wednesday and am hoping to get a fill then. I think he believes in not making any changes if things are going well. I told him two weeks ago that I'm getting hungry, so hopefully that will count for something.

How's it been for you? I hope it's going well.

I'm on lunch hour so I can't stay on the computer :ranger:long. I have to go for my noon-time walk now. I have been walking 4 - 5 miles (mostly in one-mile increments) every day. Just recently started climbing this huge hill (I call it Heartbreak hill - like the Boston Marathon hill) daily. I'm up to climbing it seven times in a row now. I'm shooting for ten times in a row by October.

Good luck and let me know how you're making out.:nervous

Best wishes!

I was banded on the 23 and have 26.2#'s off but it is going really slow right now. I had my first fill on the 14 and have no restriction at all so plan to have the 2nd one on the 5th of October. I do not regret for one moment that I had the band and eventually I will get all this weight off.

Hi SD Chick~ I was banded August 24 & only lost 10 lbs before my surgery-but was only on the liquid diet a week in a half B/4 surgery & now I can eat anything again. I figure that my stomach isn't swelled anymore from the surgery & after a liquid diet everything is tasting great so I'm looking forward to my 1st fiill Oct 5 when I've been told that I will only be able to eat 4 ozs at a time-which was how it was directly after my surgery. After reading posts on this website -I'm wondering why I'm not loosing faster but the doctor says that the fill is when I'll start with the big losses so I'm keeping that in mind & figure that everyone has a different story to tell. I'm surprised that you are loosing without a fill though, but think your stomach must have stayed swelled from the surgery longer than mine. My doctor explained in his seminar that the surgery just puts the band on & the fill is when the pouch is squeezed up over your stomach. Steph

Hello SD Chick. I'm sorry to hear that you aren't loosing and you have had a fill because I'm so looking forward to start loosing after my 1st fill. I've only lost 10 lbs B/4 the surgery & thats it so far total!!! My doctor told me that was normal at my post op & after the surgery I was really swelled but about 2 weeks ago I was able to eat anything in large amts. again!! Did your doctor say that after your fill you could only eat 4 ozs at a time & start with Protein plus no liquids for at least 1/2 hour B/4 eating and at least an hour after eating? Or do you think that you need a tighter restriction on your band to keep the food in the pouch longer? What does your doctor say?

My doctor said at his seminar that after the surgery the band was just in place & it wasn't until the fill that there was actually any restriction which makes sense & I can remember right after the surgery my stomach was really swelled so liquids were about all I could get down. And he also said that after a fill when you stop loosing then they fill again so - how soon is it that you can go back between fills? Thanks for any info. LAwbing3!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
