Hi everyone,

I was originally banded back in Nov of 2012 only to wind up with an emergency removal & sleeve revision in Jan of 2013.

I did great - lost about 105 - 110 pounds. But, as a result of a job loss, laid off 6 weeks ago, my bad habits came back. I "never" thought I would go back to munching on crappy food & over loading on carbs. The holidays are not the best time to be job hunting. The stress that comes with it is over whelming. It's hard being unemployed, spending HOURS & HOURS on my laptop applying for jobs that could be a match.

I've gained about 10 pounds, and while it may not sound like a lot, that's how it starts. I "refuse" to go back to where I was (245 pds). I now weigh around 148 pds. I'm here to let everyone know that yes, you can gain weight after being sleeved. While you may not physically be able to eat as much, you can eat a little more than when you were first sleeved, and gain weight by eating all the wrong stuff.

My point? It's time to refocus on why I lost the weight in the first place, and how being thinner made me feel. Time to go back to basics - 'do over.' Every day is a new opportunity to re-build my strength, and focus on what needs to be done to lose those horrible additional 10 pds that seem to be sitting on my stomach, and surely my butt :-).

With this said, I'm trying to back track & remember what I did when I first started. I've become more lactose intolerant than what I originally was when I first started this journey, so I need to be careful what I eat.

After giving so much support when I first started this journey, I am now looking for help & support. Trying to come up with healthy menus again. Goal is to eliminate those shitty carbs that made me do this in the first place.

Appreciate any help you guys can offer! Depressed, but definitely trying to push through with positivity!!

Thanks for listening!

Depressed, but definitely trying to push through with positivity!!

It is depressing to gain from your lowest weight, but try to remember how far you've come and looking at your stats, you're still below your original goal weight. It's all relative I guess. I mean, I weigh 145 as of this morning, and 150 was my goal, so as long as I stay under that I'm happy! I pushed up close to it this last spring, but I fought to lose that 5!

I'm only 2 years, 4 months out, so not quite 3. I do notice year 3 is hardest as far as regain, so you're not alone. You also have enough insight to know you don't want to continue to gain. Just go back to what worked before....lots of Protein, lots of veggies, lots of Water and low/no calorie fluids. I cook up boneless skinless chicken breast the way I like it prepared, and keep it in the fridge when I feel like I want to snack. It helps me feel full and satisfied, even if I just pop a couple of bites in my mouth. Also, look into intermittent fasting, or 5:2 (you can google it). That's what helped me get the regain off.

I'm currently detoxing off of white bread and sugar after Christmas. It's a bitch, especially the bread. But I know once I get over that 2 or 3 day hump, it's clear sailing again without the cravings. You can do it! :)

I am only 7wks out and admire your stride since 2012 and running... :D I pray that you find the job that makes you just as happy as you were when you were losing the weight..pure joy. :) Thank him for waking you which would put you in a positive mood, maybe think out of the box on what you are looking for in a new career..sometime change may be better...if you can go back to buying you healthy Snacks around the house so when you get in that slump it won't be so tempting if the bad foods aren't around...while you're searching that laptop do some movements (get up off that thang as we say at work..lol)...juices flowing and brain waves moving.. ;) A little set back ( that's all we claiming) it ALL will turn around for the better!!!! You've come to far to give up..Best of luck to you :)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
