You might be a slow loser .I only lost 24 pounds my first month. But I have lost weight every month.im down 100 lbs and had the same fears that I wouldnt lose the weight.at this point I think my goal was too conservative and think I could easily lose more weight. By the year mark.good luck and dont sweat it.

12/1 and I've lost 18 pounds since surgery. As of today, that's 4 weeks and I was really hoping for 20lbs to be gone. I haven't lost anything for a week which is disconcerting after watching the scale go down pound by pound daily.

I've tried eating less carbs, more carbs, less calories, more calories, drink more Water, sleep a full 8 hours - nothing. My body is going to do what it's going to do and all I have to do is stick with the program. I'm done chasing it! I got other fish to fry like trying to eat solid food! Oy vey...

We didn't gain this weight overnight yet we expect to lose it instantly... just keep telling yourself "I am staying on my prescribed plan so I am losing FAT no matter what the #!?¢& scale says"...

Consider donating your scale to Goodwill or at least locking it into the trunk of your car.

I was sleeved on 12/7. I have stalled twice. Once for four days, and I'm currently in day 3 of another stall. I've noticed the days I struggle to get my Protein are the days I stall.

i was sleeved on 11/18/16 and i am down 31 lbs , the day of surgery i was at 243 lbs and today at my follow up i am at 212 lbs , i also thought my weight is coming off slowly however my doctor advised that when you are not too heavy to start with the weight comes off slower, hang in there our journey has just begun

Exactly what my surgeon told me. Since I started with a low BMI, 34 and 212lbs, my rate of weight loss would be slower than most. I was sleeved on 12/6 and I'm now at 193. Meanwhile, before being sleeved losing almost 20 lbs in less than a month would be freaking AMAZING!!!

That's smart but my curiosity will kill me, lol

So my plan is to only weigh once a month on my monthly sleeveaversary. I'm hoping if I stay on plan, I won't be bummed out by fluctuations.

I think we all need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. I know it's frustrating when you're weighing yourself every day and not losing after so much hard work, I didnt lose an ounce between day 7 and day 21. However, people saying they "only" lost 20 lbs in a month, or 15 in 2 weeks, etc.... think about how high your expectations are. I was sleeved 10/11 and since surgery I've lost 32 lbs, since pre op diet I've lost 38. That is SO MUCH. It used to take me 3 or 4 months just to lose the first 20. I do feel bad about myself when I see people who lost as much as I have all together in the first month, but remember that we're all different and my BMI was lower than a lot of others who had surgery.

We all have days and weeks that are frustrating. I personally have only lost .5 lbs since Christmas Eve but I know that if I stick to it I will see more progress. Not everyone loses 20 or 30 lbs/month. Let's look at the reality of the situation. What would your weight be if you hadn't had the surgery? Mine would probably still be at 235 or possibly even higher (especially after the holidays). Even though it was only .5 lbs, this is the first year in forever that I haven't gained weight during the week of Christmas. To date I have lost almost 40 lbs and not one SINGLE person besides my husband has noticed or said anything. It's a long journey and eventually I will stop feeling so fat and people will start noticing. I see my clothes getting looser and my face getting thinner. You CANNOT compare yourself to others, it's a dangerous game and you will likely always end up feeling bad if you're not a super fast loser. I could've sworn 6 weeks ago that I'd never get below 220, and here I am and it seems so silly that I was so upset about that. Try not to focus on the small stuff even though it feels like forever at the time. The weight will come off as long as you follow your plan!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
