My name is Jen and I'm 4 months post operative today. I started at 255lbs, and I'm 5"5. I was wearing a 18/20. I lost 10lbs preoperative diet, and 37lbs lost since surgery( 208.8lbs) I'm in between a size 14/16 now. I would say that I am a slow looser but that's okay.

After getting denied by insurance plan because I had a eating disorder (bulimia) for 15 years, even though I havepost-308693-1482337908956_thumb.jpg post-308693-14823379683949_thumb.jpg been in recovery for 8 years, I went through A Lighter Me in Mexico to get my surgery. I don't regret my decision at all, and I have been very pleased with my results.

My struggles now are getting my daily Protein amounts, chugging enough Water, Hair loss and fatigue.

We are in this together so I hope that we can continue to support and inspire each other in this journey!

Congrats on your success so far. Sounds like you are doing well. Four months out was a real turning point for me where I finally started to feel "normal" or at least had adapted to my new normal. Keep focused on your Protein and Water. It is so so important!

So I am getting a little discouraged. I have basically only lost about 11lbs since November. I know where I am struggling, and that is with my food obsession. I snack a lot. And I don't exercise. Today I am only 203lbs , 51lbs from my highest weight. I need to make serious lifestyle changes and not waste my money and life on this surgery. I see others who had the surgery in my group and they have lost 70-80lbs in the 5 months going on 6 months postoperative.

I am having the same situation happen to me right now as well. I have been stalled at 203 for the past 3 wks and have only lost a total loss of 27lbs since surgery 3 months ago.
I am trying to be consistent with gym taking my Vitamins and drinking more Water. I have also seen a lot of sleevers who followed a kelo diet and am trying that as well.
We can do this. I refuse to let this fail!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
