I too have hit a wall. I had lost 23 lbs at my two week check and was cleared for soft foods last Thursday have lost nothing else, even gone up almost a pound. I sent my nurse an email today as it is putting me into a bit of a panic. Looking forward to a response.

I went to my primary care yesterday for my blood pressure and he said the stalls are normal and everyone has them, then doubts the decision, but to hang in there cause it gets better.

I had my surgery also on the 13th, but I have not had any issues at all from the start, my surgery went very well, no pain, no gas pains. I have been having trouble as far as trying non pureed foods. I really need some feedback, has anyone else done this?

I am on puréed foods until the 10th so I have no tried them. I have been doing well with puréed but still adding Protein powder to get meet my Protein goals.

My recovery was simple also. I did have some pain but nothing to take any meds for, just some discomfort.

December 13th sleevers!!

Lets all update and see how we are doing. I am trying to get a sense of what is normal, average, ect. I am 3 weeks post op today and down 16 lbs. I thought I would be down more, but seem to have stalled at day 13, losing only 1 lb in the past 8 days. Is this normal? Is this possible? My calories are between 600-800 per day. No issues with the Protein or liquids. Soft food stage for me, fish, yogurt and Soup. I know its crazy, but I was not anticipating a stall for at least a month or two. My surgeon said the first 6 months is where the weight will fall off, after that its up to me. Hoping to hit a milestone in January.

Hey I had surgery 12/14 and hit a stall too. Have u began losing weight again?

I still haven't gotten over the stall! Surgery was the 13th and once I started soft foods I've hit a stall. Nurse and dietician say don't worry about it but its stressful. Another dietician says the stress will cause body to hold the weight so again don't stress. It's hard!!! What does everyone's food log look like? What are you eating?

I'm on an antibiotic that's tearing my gut up so I'm at a stall. My stomach is NOT liking the antibiotics (it's a liquid).

Hi everyone. From what I'm reading, the stall is normal. I was down 21 lbs on 01/02/17, but on 01/09/17, I went down only a pound. I'm still on puréed foods until tomorrow. The Protein shakes that I liked in the beginning are now making me nauseous. And so is the Water, but I still drink it with crystal light. My doctor and dietician say the artificial sweetener in it is ok, but I'm wondering if they're wrong. I've never heard good things about it. Does anyone have any good soft food ideas? I, too, use the GENEPRO unflavored Protein. Mix it into puréed foods.

Just wondering, has anyone felt any pain in different parts of their body after losing the weight? Woke up on Sunday with my back and thighs hurting so bad that I don't think I sleep more than three hours total each night. I thought it might be Sciatica, but the pain does travel down the legs. Just stay mostly around the hips, lower back and upper thighs.

6 weeks after surgery. I started low BMI but i still losing weight. My issue is actually still progressing to soft food and eating proper Protein rather than shakes which i tolerate very well

I can tolerate yogurt plain and with natural fruit. and tiny amount of cheese.(cracker size).

tried lentil Soup - there are days I can tolerate more of it and days I just can't.

I am now 163 pounds down from 190 Surgery day.

Any ideas about varieties of food (protein) that you can tolerate acknowledging of course that every individual is different.

Hi fellow 12/13 sleevers. How is everyone doing?

I am doing well. Progressing and steadily losing. Staying on track with my diet and working out. Focusing mainly on cardio but adding in weights. I am able to get 70 Protein and at least 70 ounces of Water. I am halfway to my goal weight and I am hoping to make my goal before the end of summer.
How about everyone else?

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
