Recommended Posts

I am officially down 20 lbs and so excited because it's so hard for me to lose anything! I can't wait to get under 200 lbs..my Birthday is Jan 17th and I'm going to work real hard to be 199 on that day. My birthday will be the starts of adding fruits and veggies back into my diet..so there will be lots of reasons for celebration!

Had mine Nov 7th, had more downs than ups and have been placed on the liquid diet again. They are putting a camera down on Thursday to see what is wrong, I really struggle keeping any food inside me, 3oz would definitely be time to throw up. How are you getting on?

November 21st for me and all is well. I have been exercising everyday. Walking in a little bit of running. Swimming and very light weights. I hit a stall since December 5th and I think I'm coming out of it fingers crossed! Highest weight 340 surgery weight 325 current weight 292.

My surgery was November 29 and I am exactly 3 weeks out today.

I've lost 23# (30#, if you count the 7# of fluids I gained from the IV!) and I am eating real food without any problems.

I've had no pain and no nausea or vomiting. It has been the easiest thing I've ever done. I'm off basically all of my diabetes meds (including 2 types of insulin), and almost ready to go off of the remaining temporary meds, which will leave me taking only an OTC allergy pill.

Surgery was the best decision I've ever made.

I'm so sorry to hear that..hope it's not a stricture but if it is they say it's fairly easy to fix. Hugs and prayers to you.

I'm off my diabetic meds too..no issues..no food intolerances(so far)..I can't tolerate Protein shakes but hear that may just be temporary. I started weights today..I'm walking 10,000 steps a day at least 5 days a week..this surgery was the best decision and investment I've ever made in 'ME.'

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
