Gained weight back - getting back on board

Recommended Posts

This year has been ROUGH (lost mom on January 1, 2016) and I pretty much checked out on life, but I'm back! Although I lost weight (about 40 lbs) following my sleeve, it was not drastic and I stalled pretty quickly. My goal was to only lose about 70 - even with that weight loss, I went from size 16w to 12 and the change was noticeable.

I have gained 30 back, but have lost 6 in a week. I'm here for motivation and support, which I lack.

I'm new to this. How do u get to participate in forums? It's asking for password?

Thanks everyone!

same thing here. started at 351 back in june of 2015. got down to 221 by march/april. Got with my ex and lost all motivation. We have been broken up for 3 weeks and i have lost 14 lbs. Im only down to 231 so far but im feeling more motivated and confident by the day. I was eating all the time. way more then i should have. Was so afraid that i stretched out my stomach, but i went on a very strict diet for a couple of weeks and now when i eat its like eating how i was post surgery. Have faith and everything will work out for the best. good luck to you .

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
