I had a 6 month mandatory nutrition class requirement. My first Nut class was November 30, 2016. I will be having surgery May 10, 2017.

Hi
I had my first appointment in August of last yr and was sleeved the next month.
I would start asking questions to be honest. State that you have met all requirements and was just wondering what the delay is as you need a time frame to organise work/family commitments? Hehehe! Say anything!
I'm not too sure how it all works over your way as I'm from Australia. Hope you get your answers soon and let us know how you go
Xxx

I had a six month weight management requirement before submitting. Started in July 2016, was hoping for a February date, no joy, didn't get scheduled until May 16, 2017.

You might want to check that you don't have a required six waiting period and that they actually have on file all the required docs. to submit. I know my brief delay was from missing documents that I had to personally track down from various pre-op testing. I also called my insurance company to verify if they submitted and to check the status of my claim. Good luck.

I attended an informational seminar presented by my surgeon back in December, and then waited for my company to switch insurance providers on 1/1 to a new plan that covers the procedure. As soon as that happened, I scheduled my initial surgical consult (took place on 1/21) and then began my three-month pre-op diet & exercise appointments. During that time I visited my PCP, cardiologist and did the psych eval. Those just wrapped up on 4/28, the coordinator submitted all of my paperwork and I was approved by insurance on 5/4. I am waiting to hear from the surgical nurse to schedule my surgery, and then I'll know when my pre-op class and diet will begin! I'm hoping to get a surgery date later this month or in early June.

On Jan 16 I attended the Info seminar, I had 3 months nutrition appointments (insurance mandated), and the usual pre-reqs, and as long as I'm approved (submitted last week) I will have surgery on May 17th.

So, 4 months from start to finish, which I don't think is awful.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
