I just had my gastric sleeve surgery on November 28th I was 324 at surgery day I got down to 311 and now I'm up to 318 and I'm not sure why any and all suggestions would totally help. I'm trying very hard not to get discouraged also can anybody feel their sleeve sometimes if you are sitting in it kind of crunched position I work at a call center so I'm at a desk 10 hours a day I'm deathly afraid of a gastric leak but today I feel like I could feel my metal sleeve

I'm not sure what you mean about feeling your metal sleeve -- there is nothing metal about the sleeve except a tiny line of titanium stitches where your stomach was cut.

As far as your weight goes, gaining weight early on usually means you are bloated/retaining fluids, constipated, or having hormonal issues (common after surgery) causing weird Water and metabolism issues. It's really unlikely you are eating enough to gain weight unless you are sitting around eating milkshakes and Peanut Butter without stopping. Unless that is the case, it's very very likely one of the other issues. Sorry to be gross but this early Constipation is often the culprit.

If you are worried about a leak, definitely get in touch with your surgical team and describe your symptoms. That is a serious issue that you want professional medical guidance on rather than random speculation from internet strangers like me. Good luck to you!

I cannot sit with my arms folded across my chest right after eating. They put enough pressure on my minituarized stomach to make it uncomfortable. I worried about a leak (having done many plumbing jobs over the years) but leaks are usually associated with vomiting, fever, extreme pain, etc. If none of that is happening, it may be just a vivid imagination.

I have to sit straight up and walk around fairly often when I'm at work. It helps get whatever trapped air there is out. Hiccups are my "oh no i ate too much" sign. Definitely have to get up and move when that happens - trying to get it to never happen!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
