Any dinning advice for Disneyland in California?

Recommended Posts

I'm going to be 6 weeks out and already tolerate regular food. I know my limits and listen to my body. We are going to Disneyland for Christmas. It's a family tradition. Does anyone have any suggestions about what I can eat in the park?I have read a lot about Disney world and its completely different from southern California. We practically live in this park but I have never looked at it through bariatric eyes...

Just so happens we are going to Disneyland tomorrow. There is a food 4 less about 2 miles away to pick up what ever you make your shakes with. Powdered Protein travels easy. I got individual packets to powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury. There is very little you can eat 6 weeks post WLS at Disney restaurants, but you can get 2% milk at some venders. I will bring a shaker and packets of Condiments with me. And buy tuna in pop top cans, a pound of cottage cheese and a roasted deli chicken. Which will last me all five days, my kids will eat the chicken along with their crispy cream donuts.. there was a group on for Medieval Times so we are going there too. Can't wait to see

What I'm paying $52.00 to not eat.

Have fun!

I would opt for the tuna pouches. Maybe some turkey/cheese roll ups. If they allow you in the park with food. Or leave in cooler in car, good exercise walking back to car for lunch.

I have not been to Disneyland but went to Disney World a couple weeks ago. We ate out for most meals. My daughter (9) and I would usually split a chicken Cesar salad or occasionally a cheeseburger which I would eat with no bun. Also ate part of my husband's meals and never really ordered one for myself. I did not want to be carrying a bunch of food around while in the parks. I took strollers, bags, and tons of stuff for years so I am happy not carrying anything more than a small purse!

When I was preparing for the surgery I bought a bariatric food case because we travel a lot! I could use it for the car. I was looking at the menus for Disneyland restaurants and I see where I can manage meals. I totally can eat salmon and lamb and we will get a late reservation for the carthay circle world of color dinning tickets. Then I can get a doggie bag...

Ok guys so one update I have for you is the bengal barbecue. It's considered a snack stand and it's across from the jungle cruise. They sell skewers of meat for $4.50, which by Disney standards is a deal! For a Normal person it's a snack but for us the perfect size and a good dose of Protein. I plan to visit today I'll post pics.

@@Miss Rachel We were at Disneyland in October...there's a wine stand at the end of Cars land, next to the Wine Country Trattoria, that sells a nice cheese and salami plate, plus bottled Water. There are also turkey leg stands, which my boys loved and I could steal a couple of ounces of meat from them.

I carried a small crossbody purse and kept a couple of Protein bars in it, and filled my water bottle every chance I got. It was a great trip with plenty of walking for exercise, have fun!

We had dinner in a Disney California Adventure restaurant last night. I had two slices of tritium, a bite of lobster, two spoons of potatoes and a few bites of broccoli. The desert plate featured creme brûlée, a Madeline and a dark chocolate mouse cake . So basically $50.00 for 4oz of food. dinner included preferred seating to the holiday light show. Kids are having a blast.post-305160-14813306826737_thumb.jpg

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
