You are going to stall switching food stages as your body adjusts.

If you want orange juice, get some Syntrax nectar Orange flavor.

I love Vitamin Water Zero, lemon flavored. It tastes like real lemonade to me. I like the orange too. It was a great break from Water. I have a problem with aspartame and this is made with Stevia. I'm a year and a half out and 153 lbs down. I've been drinking it since I discovered it Twp weeks after surgery. You can expect many stalls but if you stick to the basics of the plan you will succeed. Oh and your taste buds go through all kinds of changes too. Hang in there. You have started a wonderful journey! ????

A lot of times physical cravings are really about nutrient deficiencies. Orange juice is high in potassium and Vitamin C. I'd suspect potassium before C because it takes longer for a C deficiency to cause a physical problem. And if you're cutting carbs, you're missing a lot of foods with potassium in them like potatoes. Try drinking something with electrolytes in it like sugar-free Gatorade or even Smart Water (though it doesn't have as much in it as a Gatorade).

Only down 35 lbs? How often have you lost 35 lbs in a month before?

Well you might as well get use to it. You don't lose weight every day or even every week. You body is going to stall as it adjusts, and then you lose again. You are going to stall a lot in the process of getting to your goal weight. When you are stalled, make sure that you take your measurements.

Also a pound is meaningless. I can weigh myself right now. Drink 16 ounces of Water and be up a pound in 3 minutes. Your body weight is going to fluctuate as you are losing depending on the contents of your body. You didn't say anything about if you are regular or when your last bowel movement was.

If you can't take the stalls, then don't weight yourself as often. It helps.

That is what my husband says....its just so much more motivating seeing the scale drop. Also worries me cause i had surgery 1 mnth ago. ..

It scares me to feel so miserable atleast seeing makes me feel alot better. Today I ate 500 calories and walked 30 minutes in the morning in afternoon. I will do the same for a couple days then weigh myself i just want to see that scale at 239...that will make me happy.

Are you supposed to be at 500 calories at this point? The more you increase your calories, the more you will lose, you can't function on 500 calories for an extended period of time, not and be active. I lost the most weight in the 800-1100 calorie range.

I dont know....i am off work and its been very hard. But I did this surgery so I could move more easily for my baby can have the same experiences my others did. Shes one and my others are 17, 16, 14 and 12. I was always at a park, beach , bowling...or even cooking...now its her turn...So I guess my point is I agree but Ill do what I have to till I see my doctor on the 12th. Thankfully all the kids hubby and part time nurse we hired are very supportive.

I did drop 2 lbs a and after my bowel movement total loss of 3 lbs. Fitness pal says I should eat 1230 cal so Im confussed but till I get to 220 Im going to do what I have to. I find that I was eating loads more then others ...nothing makes me feel bad so...its up to me to eat s.aller portions maybe more frequently... but right now Im very happy that Im 1 lb away from 239 goal...then Im going for 229 goal. Then 220....tx for your consideration...????

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
